Marriage Licenses

To obtain a marriage license, both parties must appear together in person in our office. A marriage license obtained in our office can be used anywhere in Arkansas. Marriage licenses are issued every business day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The process of obtaining a marriage license in our office will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. It may take longer if we are helping other customers who have arrived before you. You will be asked to sign a marriage license application and a bond page which is our permanent record of your marriage.

Age Requirement Information

Adults over 18

If both parties are eighteen (18) years of age or older, we require that they provide Legal Identification and their Social Security number to issue a marriage license. 

Males Applicants Under Eighteen (18)

To issue a marriage license to a male under eighteen (18) years of age we require the following:

  • Legal Identification
  • A state certified Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Parental Consent (Parent or Parents must appear with the underage party 

A mandatory five (5) day waiting period is required. 

Female Applicants 16 to 17 Years Old 

To issue a marriage license to a female sixteen to seventeen (16 to17) years of age we require the following:

  • Legal Identification
  • A state certified Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Parental Consent (Parent or Parents must appear with the underage party)

A mandatory five (5) day waiting period is required.

Addition information regarding underage marriage

Legal Identification

  • Applicants must present a valid Picture Identification (Driver's License or government-issued ID card)
    and provide their Social Security number.
  • Other forms of ID may be acceptable only with the County Clerk's approval.

Fees & Information

A marriage license is valid for sixty (60) days. You must get married prior to sixty-one (61) days. If the marriage license has not been used and is older than sixty (60) days, the marriage license is expired and you will be required to purchase a new marriage license.

The fee for a marriage license is $60 - cash only for the marriage license. 

A marriage license that has been signed and completed by a marriage officiant whose credentials have been registered in Arkansas can be filed in our office. You may mail the original marriage license to us for filing. The original marriage license will be filed and mailed back to you. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that your original marriage license will be mailed to the correct address. You may also present your marriage license for filing in person at our office. The marriage license will be filed and returned to you before you leave. There is no additional fee to file your marriage license. 

Marriage License Copy Request

Certified copies of the license (bond page) is available for five dollars ($5) each, non certified copies are available for one dollar ($1) each. Request can be made in person, or pay mailing in the Marriage License Copy Request Form.
