Garland County Veteran Service Office (GCVSO)

The Garland County Veteran Service Office (GCVSO) performs administrative work in advising armed forces veterans and dependents on benefits available under federal, state and local laws. Assists in completing and submitting required forms, obtaining necessary legal documents, medical records and other data as required by law in support of claim. The GCVSO connects veterans and their dependents with services available at the local, state and federal level. The GCVSO also provides outreach and presents programs on Veteran’s benefits to county citizens.

 The Veterans Service Office assists veterans, their spouses and dependents in obtaining all benefits to which they are entitled from the U.S. Veterans Administration. Services provided include answering questions, providing applicable forms and assisting in the completion, assisting with legal representation of the formal claim process and appeals. Referrals are made to other social service agencies as needed. The Veterans Service Officer can also assist veterans with establishing membership into local veteran service organizations. In-home service is available for those who are unable to leave their homes or are without relatives or a friend to provide transportation to one of the office sites.   The Veterans Service Officer is available to meet personally with area veterans.  The main office is located in the Courthouse on the 1st floor.
