Duties

Duties of the Public Works and Buildings/Environmental Services Committee:

  • Assist the judge in developing long-range plans
  • Have jurisdiction in matters pertaining to flood control and drainage issues
  • Ensure that county operations are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws
  • Serve as an advisory committee of the Quorum Court on Cedar Glades park
  • Serve as an advisory committee on county environmental services including solid waste management, illegal dumps and litter control, the county collection system, and Class IV landfill and transfer stations
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the County Judge on the county road and transportation system
  • Study and make recommendations on county property, construction, land major equipment purchases
